Lucky Charms
Organic jewelry that provides a subtle reminder about the important things in life.
We've all got something in our bag of tricks that we believe grants us good luck. Maybe it's a hole-ridden t-shirt from high school, a certain pair of underwear, or even something more obvious, like a horseshoe pendant necklace. Elisa Solomon, the displaced flower child and University of Michigan-educated metalsmith behind an eponymous line of jewelry, would totally understand, man.
Solomon launched her accessories label back in 2004 with the goal of creating everyday items that would provide strong emotional ties for the wearer—something the New York-based talent experienced firsthand when her mother gave her a small carved horse made out of antique turquoise. A piece of Native American art, the tiny sculpture or "fetish" was meant to possess certain magical powers; fascinated by the idea, Solomon began incorporating animal imagery and natural gemstone materials into her simple, feel good line.
Also of interest but possibly less likely to cure illness are her earthy but glamorous Shake Necklaces; these fractured beauties are made by taking a precious stone (think rubies, sapphires, emeralds), cracking it into a million little pieces and then putting them back together in pendant form. Equally luxe but slightly more understated, her Flower Child studs in rose or yellow gold have us craving the Summer of Love. The bottom line?
They'll make you happy.
They'll make you happy.
They'll make you happy.
Elisa Solomon Jewelry is available through her online store.
