Made In England
A fresh-faced talent teams up with our fashion alum to create lustworthy accessories for spring.
What happens when a Californian gemology major runs away to London, only to find herself apprenticing for Jade Jagger? While it might sound like the plot of a new Anne Hathaway flick, it's actually the real life story of Jen Tozer, an emerging accessories designer who just launched her own collection of baubles that's founded on the cornerstones of "precious ornaments, mystical stones and centuries-old relics."
We first discovered Tozer when a little fashion birdie named Camilla Staerk revealed that they were working on a collaboration collection together. A delightful mix of delicate and dark, Tozer's sometimes Gothic, always pretty pieces, are classic with a welcome helping of sartorial bite. A large but ladylike pearl ring is toughened up with a chunky yellow gold chain; a hand-carved oxidized silver pendant comes complete with romantic touches like pearl petals and black satin tassels; a solid "Made In England" logo ring looks like something you might find tucked away in the back of your grandmother's jewelry box, a forgotten token from a former lover.
The pieces she worked on with Staerk (a fun mix of stud earrings in coral, onyx and turquoise, delicate chains, and lots of sapphire and pearl), along with some necklaces and rings from Tozer's current collection are available exclusively online at www.kabiri.co.uk; snatch up some of these unique bijoux now, and throw 'em on to instantly add a little mystery to your springy ensembles.
