Hannah Marshall's Plan

"You have to be different to survive." - Hannah Marshall

I just got back from a trip to London and there was one name I kept hearing whispered among in-the-know fashionistas—Hannah Marshall. At only 25, this young designer has recently taken the world of high fashion by storm with her epnonymous label of striking womenswear that has a fun, interesting twist.

Take her new Spring/Summer collection, "VoID", a dress-only capsule range which incorporates braille through techniques such as laser cutting, laser etching and embossing into luxe materials like leather. "The concept evolved from looking at clothing as a communicative tool, and an understanding of the importance to be innovative within design," she has explained. The minimalist line—inspired by the work of greats like Lanvin and Jil Sander—oozes sophistication thanks to a muted palette and tailored—but always creative and body conscious—cuts.

So what does this emerging talent have her eye on next? The dancefloor, natch. "I think Roisin Murphy is amazing and has a true individual style. She was recently photographed wearing one of my designs and I would love to dress her for a video or something. I am also really into The Kills as well so Alison Mosshart would be a great client to dress for an onstage performance. That could be incredible."

Keep your eye on this one kids; she's ready to shake things up.
