Sneak Peek: Broken
Watch Heather Graham come undone in a new flick that's all about finding yourself.
You know that disoriented feeling you get the morning after a wild night out that leads you to race around your apartment, looking for clues? Crumpled receipts mashed in your wallet, pictures you don't really remember taking on your digital camera, a mysterious stranger's business card in the back pocket of your jeans...well, that's the feeling we had after screening Heather Graham's latest flick, Brokenbut in the best way possible.
Alan White's tale of addiction, which screened at our Gen Art Chicago Film Festival back in June, follows the path of Hope, a Midwestern transplant trying to break into the music business here in L.A. When she meets Will, a charming bad boy (Jeremy Sisto) with a thing for heroin, her passion for him (and in turn, her newfound drug addiction) hijacks her life, and she loses all sight of her singer/songwriter dreams.
"The film has a message, find out who you are, and be happy with who you are no matter what society says that is," White had said. "You have got to find a peace with yourself no matter what your success or lack of it, you have to be comfortable in your own skin."
But don't take his word on it; find out for yourself, firsthand. Broken opens tomorrow at Sunset 5, 8000 Sunset Boulevard, (323) 848-3500. Click here to see video footage of the totally adorable Heather smooching her boyfriend at our film festival after-party!
