Gere Gets His Groove Back
Finally, a movie that helps us forget "Dr. T and the Women".
Trust nobody. That seems to be the overriding theme in "The Hunting Party", a new movie based on the popular Esquire article called "What I Did on my Summer Vacation" by Scott Anderson. In it, Richard Gere plays a disgraced journalist who brings his cameraman (Terrence Howard) and a plucky apprentice (a very funny Jesse Eisenberg, who you know from "The Squid and the Whale") along on a dangerous cat-and-mouse chase throughout Bosnia for the world's most-wanted war criminal.
This is the latest flick from Gen Art alum Richard Shepard, whose film "Oxygen" (which featured Adrian Brody in his first starring role) premiered at our film festival and the Golden Globe-nominated, "The Matador" we screened at a Cinema Circle event. Government cover-ups, hostile locals and explosions abound in a trailer that is pretty darn entertaining; in other words, if this new flick is anything like Shepard's previous work, you can expect a delicious mix of suspense and comedya popcorn movie in the best way possible.
"The Hunting Party" opens in theaters in L.A. starting tomorrow. Click here to check out showtimes and watch the trailer.
