No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn

A new line from BK offers basics infused with a subtle twist!

Ever since Jeff Madalena and Louis Terline opened their Brooklyn-based men's store, Oak, it has been a go-to spot for guys looking to score duds from up and coming labels. The concept is simple: bring a knowledge of fashion into an unpretentious retail setting. The idea has worked so well that they quickly opened a second location in Park Slope (that also carries women's clothing), and whipped up a cut and sew label for guys and gals that's making a debut this fall.

Why you're going to love it? This first collection is full of easy-to-wear staples with a twist, like well-cut denim, screenprinted signature tees and refreshing button-down shirts—in other words, everything you need to build your fall wardrobe. Our favorite piece for the guys: the slash pocket poplin check shirt. It's funky without erring on the side of trying too hard (totally Brawny chic), and at only $120, it doesn't break the bank. For the girls, we like these overdye black skinny jeans. The cut is clean, the color, edgy, and a higher rise guarantees that you won't flash unassuming strangers, which is always a good thing.

While most of the men's stuff is already available online for pre-order, you girls are going to have to wait a week before items go live. In the meantime, surf around their site ladies...with brands like Vena Cava and Shelly Steffee on hand, we're sure you'll find something that strikes your fancy!
