Fashion Smorgasbord

In Stockholm, endless daylight = more time spent at the sewing machine.

As a style aficionado, what do you need to know about the recent Stockholm Fashion Week? That's precisely the question I posed to Gen Art's Fashion Director, Lee Trimble, who decided to forsake Paris Couture Week and instead journey to one of the most beautiful cities in Scandinavia to scout emerging talent. Find the highlights from her fashion week dispatch below and win cool points by sprinkling these names into the conversation at your next sartorially-minded event:

1. Agunandagirl: This emerging label (it's pronounced "a girl and a gun") was the newest line to show. Lots of hoods, sharp lines and a denim onesie, all set to a Grace Jones soundtrack. Definitely one to watch.

2. Nhu Duong: A recent Beckmans School of Design graduate, Duong became the first designer to receive the week's Young Fashion Industry Award. Obviously someone on the judging panel loves safety pins, too.

3. Carin Wester: Her public, outdoor show featured feminine, body-skimming womenswear in a playful mix of textures and featherlight fabrics. The purple hue used throughout was the embodiment of spring.

4. Rajni Jacques and Anna Laub: Jacques, Fashion Features Editor at NYLON, and Laub, a former Gen Art intern and current writer for WGSN, were just two of the influential foreign press in town scoping new talent.

5. Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair: The clean-cut and preppy offerings from this design duo—inspired by rusted steel sculptures—were a buzzed-about favorite among editors.
