Desperately Seeking Sonia

She designed ScarJo's jaw-dropping engagement bling. That's all we needed to know.

Nothing says cool and exclusive like a swanky pop-up shop—unless of course it's a line of one-of-a-kind jewelry that's found in a pop-up shop, like the showstoppers from local designer Sonia Boyajian currently for sale at the Comme de Garcons Guerrilla Store. Instinct told us to keep this fashion find all to ourselves, but reader, we're simply too excited about these beautiful baubles to keep them under wraps.

Handcrafted using precious metals and stones, and an array of miniature glass objects gathered while globe trotting, and inspired by "the little things in life," each of Boyajian's fanciful creations takes the wearer on a unique journey where function and imagination engage in a dramatic, attention grabbing waltz. There's an intentional wink of magic and whimsy to her work, allowing paper balls and faux pearls to beautifully flit about on the same golden wire, each seeking out the spotlight.

It also makes her eccentric bijoux feel more like something you'd find tucked in the pocket of a crazy old aunt's vintage winter coat rather than a modern day statement piece. But no worries, girls—your sartorial secret is safe with us—and thousands of other Pulse readers!

The Comme des Garcons Guerrilla Store is located at 125 West 4th Street, Suite 106, (213) 626-6606.
