European Vacation

A new collection of womenswear is as perfect for lunch at Joan's on Third as a weekend trip to Catalina.

Move over Dolly. There's a new Joline in town who has us enchanted. Yes, she spells her first name a little differently, but any chance to reference the classic Parton ditty can't be ignored. Amsterdam-based emerging designer, Joline Jolink, and her eponymous line, have that magical Dutch touch that made "Viktor" and "Rolf" two of the sweetest words a fashionista can hear in the same sentence. (Coincidentally, she worked as an assistant designer for their brand while still in school—small world.)

Inspired by Amsterdam's free spirit, Jolink's super-wearable Spring/Summer 2008 collection is a mix of breezy separates and neutral basics—with punchy tangerine tones and bold stripes thrown in the mix to keep things interesting. These are the kind of feminine pieces that make effortless dressing a cinch—something which makes us happier than a whole tray of space cakes this busy time of year. And we've heard that they're comfortable to boot.

Now that you have the wardrobe part under control, maybe you can finally find the time to book a summer getaway. Until then, just rocking these frocks will give you that post-vacay glow.

Joline Jolink is available at Pixie Market, 7950 West 3rd Street, (323) 782-1718.
