Elemental Style
Create a reaction with jewelry that's a modern homage to your sophomore science class.
Remember those days of high school chemistry? Mixing up strange solutions in beakers. Learning about states of matter, chemical bonding and atomic structure. And then there was that enormous beast that we all had to memorizethe periodic table.
Joe Johnson and Jeanju Choi-Johnson, the Brooklyn-based husband-and-wife team behind ITSNONAME (an anagram for their home state, Minnesota) are aspiring multi-disciplinary designers who are making a name for themselves in the blogosphere thanks to our old tabular friend. Their chunky Periodic rings, which come in either Ag (silver), Au (gold) or Pt (platinum), are a unisex statement piece made for the geek chic fashionista in your life; each features the corresponding metal's atomic number and weightjust the solution for those situations that call for a little intellectual bling.
"We both also work 9 to 5 jobs for advertising and fashion companies," Johnson has said of their debut effort. "Jean worked in fine jewelry for a couple of years where she learned the technical ropes. And one night, the idea just hit us."
I wonder what these part-time mad scientists could do to a pair of safety goggles...
