Etsy Picks: Best V-Day Cards

Nothing says "I love you," like a homemade card...but no one says you have to be the one who makes it!

I'm a person who hates buying greeting cards—with the exception of valentines. Maybe it's the cheesy part of me that loves watching romantic comedies on cable. Or some attempt to compensate for the fact that I wasn't incredibly popular back in elementary school. Or perhaps it's the fact that some Valentine's Day cards are just really freaking cute. Below you'll find four of my favorite artists currently offering their one-of-a-kind pieces on Etsy. Check 'em out, and then get shopping—you've only got a week to go!

1. For your ironic hipster crush
Aussie artist Anna Laura makes funny, grammar school-style cards that feature awkward-looking hand-drawn men and women, and are emblazoned with emotional sweet nothings like, "I Worship The Ground You Walk On" and "Hold Me."

2. For your best frenemy
This cheeky valentine made me snort. Why? The inside reads, "This card is worth about three dollars," and then lists a bunch of stuff that's worth the same amount—including your relationship with the recipient!

3. For your politics lovin' BFF
No matter who they're backing in the upcoming presidential election, the "I want to Barack your world" valentine should get a hearty laugh from your best bud—face it, everyone loves puns.

4. For your geek chic boyfriend
For some reason, geeky boys usually love robots (there's probably some connection to Star Wars). And you love your geeky boy. That makes this rubber-stamped valentine a total no-brainer.
