Absolutely Cuckoo

Eclectic pieces infused with sophisticated whimsy = bijoux that Bay Area-girls will love.

As a general rule, if the ever-stylish Rachel Bilson is spotted wearing a designer, then they're usually pretty cool. So when I read that she was a fan of emerging accessories label jewelry by Beth Lauren, I knew I had to check it out immediately.

With her new "infused heirloom" collection, Maryland native Beth Lauren Silverberg, the rather Bilson-esque talent behind the line, has hand-created delicate and feminine pieces with a bohemian and distinctly antique feel—vintage button charms, coins and pendants dangle from 14K gold-filled chains and metallic threads, creating a visually-stunning juxtaposition of old versus new.

The delicate, diamond-shaped radicchio pendant, one of the items snatched up by the former O.C. star from Silverberg's "ambrosia" collection, comes in a variety of different stones ranging from citrine to garnet; the designer playfully refers such semi-precious pieces "modern garnish"—something I think every girl could use an extra helping of.

To see a video of some hot Ford models (many of whom are inexplicably wearing bikinis) sporting some of her latest pieces, along with a brief interview with this cute-as-a-button designer, click here now; just don't get funny ideas about wearing these blinged-out baubles in the water!

Jewelry by Beth Lauren is available online through her Web site.
