Lip-Smackin' Good

Forget cheap champagne and crab cakes. Finally, a book party worth attending.

Looking for a naughty way to round out your year? Satiate your cravings for a good time at tomorrow night's release party for Sex and Candy, a new book edited by erotica superstar Rachel Kramer Bussel. The event takes place at sweet shop-turned-performance space, Pete's Candy Store—one of our favorite venues in the 'burg.

What can you expect from this lusty lady? Twisted accounts of Twizzlers and fantastic encounters with fudge accent the newly-published collection of stories. Comedian and Williamsburg Spelling Bee founder Jen Dziura is one of the book's contributors with a tale about a fraudulent weight loss clinic and some unconventional uses for Sweet Tarts; the hipster wordsmith claims that she's typically funny, not smutty: "If I'm gonna write erotica, it's going to be completely absurd—which is what prompted me to [write] a candy-focused, lesbian, plus-sized, erotica story." Yowza.

Warm up to a hot night celebrating the works of L. Elise Bland, Donna George Storey, Michele Zipp, Shanna Germain and others who appear in the anthology. Nosh on samples of 22 tastefully-written tales. Festivities kick off at 7:30 and keep coming until 9:30 p.m. Attendees will receive free treats. What more could you ask for?

The "Sex and Candy" book release party takes place tomorrow night at Pete's Candy Store, 709 Lorimer Street, (718) 302-3770.
