With an overall sleek look, clean lines and a focus on darker colors, emerging designer haven Gamma Player (2035 West Division, 773-235-0755) unveils their fall line. Their international repertoire (which includes former Gen Art-er Texell Miras and Danish knitwear designer Iben Hoj) is a one-of-a-kind blend of clothes from South America, Asia and Europe; most lines are Chicago area-exclusives.

Listen: Minus the Bear
It's hard not to get caught up in this Seattle band's incredible performance energy. Dance Friday night away at Metro (3730 North Clark Street, 773-549-0203) to their indie pop tunes and upbeat melodies, but pay close attention to the underlying dark lyrics. Tricky, tricky.

Watch: "Control"
The Music Box (3733 North Southport Avenue, 773-871-6604) premiers the dramatic biopic, "Control," which focuses on '70's don't-label-us-punk, punk band Joy Division. The critically acclaimed flick chronicles the life of lead singer Ian Curtis, focusing on his dramatic marriage and the frequent seizures which are believed to have led to his premature death.

See: "Montreal Tout Garni"
We knew our friends in Montreal had their fingers on the pulse of the indie rock scene, but now it seems they've got emerging visual arts cornered, too. This exhibition at All Rise Gallery (1542 North Milwaukee Avenue, 773-292-9255) features works from a bevy of hot young things who draw inspiration from Montreal's cultural melting pot of influences.
