D.I.Y. Didn't They Do It Sooner?

The Renegade Craft Fair finds a permanent post on West Division Street!

If you've hit the Renegade Craft Fair over the past four years then you know it's a shopper's paradise chock full of cool stuff like printed tote bags, silk-screened tees and funky prints from up and coming talents. Now old buddies Kathleen Habbley and Sue Blatt, the masterminds behind the operation, have opened a brick and mortar boutique so you can experience the D.I.Y. revolution year round, with some vintage duds thrown in to the mix.

A few names to put on your shopping list: My Paper Crane, a line of handmade plush creatures and weird, colorful artwork by Heidi Kenney; pinecone + chickadee, greeting cards, journals and apparel for women and kids, all screenprinted by hand; Biggs & Featherbelle, a health-conscious collection of body care products like yummy smelling soaps, lip balms and body butter bars, all wrapped in adorable packaging.

We love supporting the little guy, and stores like this make it that much easier to do the indie thing. Check 'em out this weekend, and if you like what you see, be sure to mark your calendars for this year's fair, which comes to Chicago on September 15th!
