Put Down Your Gossip Rags
And check out an indie flick that takes a behind-the-scenes look at the cult of celebrity.
The shot heard round the world. That's what a desperate paparazzo (Steve Buscemi) is looking for in Delirious, a new flick from Tom DiCillo, the New York hipster director who many have called too indie for independent cinema.
DiCillo wrote the role for Buscemi, who originally turned down the part because he found the character too creepy. Joining him in the cast is Michael Pitt as a homeless kid who innocently stumbles into the world of entertainment industry smoke and mirrors, as his unpaid assistant. When a hot pop tart, played by Alison Lohman, tries to lure the dreamy boy onto her side of the velvet rope, their friendship is ultimately put to the test. Gina Gershon rounds out the ensemble as a sex pot casting director.
Delirious is currently showing in New York and Los Angeles. See it in Chicago at the end of the month. Below, watch footage from our Gen Art Cinema Circle for the flick that includes an appearance by the Culkin brothers, Buscemi and a reunion/lovefest between DiCillo and Pitt, who hadn't seen each other in over a year.
