Get All Dahl-ed Up
Project Runway's golden girl launches a lusty-worthy line of custom-made tops and dresses.
The best part thing about Season 3 of Project Runway? Alison Kelly, our favorite contestant. She was adorable (such great hair!) and never catty, plus her designs were sweet, flirty and funjust the kind of thing you'd toss on for cocktails at Skybar with your girls. So, when she dropped by our offices a few weeks back, it was a pretty big deal.
Why did Alison stop in? To tell the fashion gals about Atelier Dahl, her new online boutique that gives customers the power to dictate the color and fit of each piece in her latest collection. Our favorite item: the black top pictured above, which is similar to one she wore on the show, and features hand-crocheted detailing, a textured body made from washed silk, and sleeves with dramatically raw edges. It's just the right amount of sexy, with a smidge of goth girl chic thrown in for good measure.
Alison told us that she'll be updating her online store with fresh, seasonable pieces frequently, so bookmark the site for upcoming limited-edition designs. And don't be surprised if she turns this virtual venture into a brick and mortar boutique in the future: "I've always wanted to run a small atelier where my customers could come in, be measured, and walk out with a custom garment!" When it happens, we're so there!
