Sneak Peek: Numb

Matthew Perry's new movie Numb is a black satirical comedy about a troubled screenwriter who suffers from depersonalization disorder. (It's based on the true story of Harris Goldberg, who was the man behind Deuce Bigalow.) In the movie, Perry's character meets his dream girl, Sarah, and makes a decision to try and fix his problems. He bounces from one psychiatrist to another in hopes of finding one that will give him confidence and help him find purpose in life.

The film is filled with funny moments, and the only time I actually felt numb was when Ray Romano sat down in front of me. As Harris said during the panel that followed the screening, Matthew was "the guy" for this role. A funnier observation came from Matthew's costar, Kevin Pollack who told him, "I thought it was incredibly brave to do this movie as your first role after Friends." I'm guessing he, like the majority of Americans, didn't watch Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip!
