Who is Howie Day? Certainly you remember this singer-songwriter's hit single, "Collide," which has played in the background of every TV show from E.R. to Grey's Anatomy. He's currently in the recording studios working on his follow-up album.

But if you don't recall Howie from years past, you're about to know him as the new Mr. Britney Spears, according to the latest issue of celebrity rag, Life & Style. Howie and Britney have a pretty romantic "how they met" story. Both were rehabbing at Promises in Malibu, when she apparently "fell hard for him." Britney has also reported that he's "the best kisser ever," but we find this kind of hard to believe. Better than Justin?

While this is already pretty rich material, Idolator has dredged up some additional dirt on the Mayer-wannabe, including the fact that he's been arrested twice—once for locking a woman in a bathroom after she refused his sexual advances. Yum. The Britney train wreck just keeps getting uglier, and why we never thought we'd say this, Brittles, you're way too good for this dude, crazy bald head and all.
