Film Festival Feature: Crashing

The filmmaker: Gary Walkow's first film, The Trouble With Dick was an homage to Philip K. Dick. Next, he adapted Dostoevsky's Notes From Underground, and then went on to make Beat, a film about William and Joan Burroughs.

The flick: In Crashing, a respected writer's wife kicks him out of the house, leaving him with nothing. He ends up crashing with sexy co-eds who allow him to use their place as an office, as long as he offers them advice on their own writing attempts. Suddenly, he feels inspired to write again.

See it: Wednesday, April 11th

Read Gary's responses to our Big Three Questions below!

What movie character would you like to meet for drinks?
Dominique Sanda in The Conformist. Why would I go out for a drink with her? Because I'd be crazy not to.

What historical time period would you visit and adapt into a film?
The early to mid-60s, because they were exciting times on every level and a hell of a lot of fun.

What is the one thing that surprised you the most about making Crashing?
That it turned out okay.
