The Cream of the Design Crop

We finally headed over to the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum on Saturday to check out Design Life Now , a national design triennial featuring work from across the fields of product design, architecture, furniture, film, graphics, new technologies, animation, science, medicine and fashion.

Some of the best things we saw: The limited-edition art toys from Kidrobot (which are designed by world-renowned graffiti artists, industrial designers, illustrators and musicians) put our childhood He-Man figurines to shame. We also loved Brooklyn-designer Jason Miller's insouciant Dusty Tables. They're permanently soiled with trompe l'oeil dust—take that O.C.D.-types everywhere. The FedEx tube CD rack and VOS water bottle chandelier from ReadyMade magazine were really fun too look at—but we're just not that crafty yet.
