Alright. That's Funny.
Meet The New Kings Of Comedy
It's hard to make us laugh. Some say that we're jaded, but really, we like to think of ourselves as sophisticated. Recently we found a bunch of comedians who have the ability to keep us in stiches. Everybody? Meet the funny men. Funny men? This is everybody.
Our first funny guy is Aziz Ansari- a standup comedian based in New York City who recently won the Jury Award for Best Standup at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. That's a big deal people. Instead of resting on his laurels, Aziz regularly hosts Crash Test at the Upright Citizens Brigade each week. Full of hipster references (we love his bit about too-cool singer M.I.A) and lovelorn antics, Ansari makes our belly hurt with his self-deprecating, yet snarky style. Make sure to check out his new comedy series called Human Giant soon to be released on MTV. Named after Ansari's crew of comedic genuis' (Ansari, Rob Huebel, Paul Scheer and Jason Woliner) Human Giant just might make these kids the new kings of comedy. See the first episode here.
Our next funny guy is rising star Zach Galifianakis whose known for his short bits, abounding energy and slightly raunchy humor. He has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and had us giggling during two appearances on Reno 911! Galifianakis also performed on a tour called "Comedians of Comedy," which has since been turned into full length movie. Despite all this, Zach is most famous for his featured role in Fiona Apple's music video for the song "Not About Love." Currently, Zach stars as Alan Finger on the Comedy Central show Dog Bites Man, which plays off of the "fake news" concept made famous by Jon Stewart. To get a taste of Zach's flavor check out a video of Zach's one man show on Comedy Central.
Being a comedian isn't easy. It's tough work, but when these guys hit the stage it looks easy. And boy, is it funny.
RANDOM TANGENT:
Oddly enough, Dave Chappelle was once drinking buddies with Slash from Guns N' Roses.
