10 Reasons To Head To SF
1. Young fashion label, Tongue Cut Sparrow's collection (pictured left) is readily available in their home town of SF. Gals, puhleeze get an online store.
2. SF is considering offering wi-fi access for free to all its residents and is in the process of taking proposals.
3. Anti-hero, cult figure and comedian Neil Hamburger has a show on 2/24 at the Hemlock. SF is so good to the comics.
4. The revival of the Hayes Valley district- eateries, galleries, haute couture and hip nightspots.
5. Pirate Cat Radio - it's like Pump Of The Volume for big kids.
6. Club 6, which is a true watering hole on slightly seedy Sixth Street, between Market and Mission. Worth the trip for its cutting edge gallery shows, bands and neo soul nights. Rawk.
7. The Southern Exposure's Monster Drawing rally (February 24th, 6-11pm) where you can watch artists whip out masterpieces, then take home an original for $50. Or, SOEX also hosts a massive annual art auction to support the gallery and community programs in May. Eat, drink, buddy up and get good art, cheap.
9. It's ground zero for handbag designer Karen Nepacena.
10. Despite Boring Gore starting it up, SF's Current TV has become one of our favorites. Who doesn't love user generated and selected programming?
Okay, we can't help ourselves...11. San Francisco's amazing history from the Gold Rush to Alan Ginsberg's and the Beat Generation to hippes and the awesome Harvey Milk - SF is just a cool place to be.
